Over the last few weeks I have been reviewing some of the most popular hardware wallets out there including the Ledger Nano S & the Trezor Model T. While each crypto hardware wallet had it's challenges getting setup for use, they are all solid options for cold storage of your coins so you are not keeping them on an exchange. Today I review a BRAND NEW hardware wallet that does not work like the rest of them. The Keywallet Touch by Keypair has no cables and uses no battery and is shaped just like a credit card! Follow The ‘Stache as I unbox my new Keywallet Touch, show you how it works, how to set it up for the first time, and how you can WIN one of these in my giveaway!
NFC Enabled Hardware Wallet
The Keywallet Touch is made by Korean company Keypair. They have a few other products out, but this one really struck me as being unique. The Keywallet Touch is credit card shaped and just as thin too. At first glance you might even mistake it as an American Express Black! This hardware wallet uses the same NFC technology that is in your credit and debit cards as well as used for things like Apple Pay & Samsung Pay. NFC stands for “Near-Field Communication” and evolved from RFID (radio frequency identification) but can only be used in close contact (typically within a few inches). Keypair takes advantage of this by creating a hardware wallet that uses NFC to store your coins in conjunction with an app on your smartphone.
Using The Keywallet Touch
Using the Keywallet Touch is quite simple as you can see from my video above. The main thing you want to remember is that you DO need an NFC enabled phone to use it. All the new Samsung's and iPhones have this, but some other brands and older phones my not. I have a brand new Galaxy S9+ so I had no problem here. Loading your wallet is as simple as opening the app up and tapping your card to the back of your phone as I show you in the video. From there, the simple send/receive interface works great!

In general the Keywallet Touch is one of the easiest hardware wallets to get setup and use in my opinion. I also love the top notch security of the NFC functions (which are of course password protected) and that you can keep this hardware wallet in your REAL wallet unlike most hardware wallets out there. This is a true winner in the hardware wallet category!

Hey Jerry, thanks for checking out my review! Yes I still think it’s a decent wallet, but there are some better ones out there for sure. Check out Coolwallet or Safe Pal, both of which I have reviewed lately.
