The Woz is coming to Los Angeles! 

I have been a big fan of Steve Wozniak since the Oregon Trail days and there are few in the tech world that can compare to his contributions in my opinion. I grew up an Apple fan using some of the first computers that my elementary school ever purchased and I still recall staring at that tiny Apple II screen with it's sandy tan exteriors for hours on end. It was the first computer I ever used and I was instantly hooked…

Caulk The Wagon & Float Across

While my Oregon Trail days are far behind me (I have now introduced my daughter to the game and she made it to Oregon on the first try, WTF?!? haha), it influenced my life in an undeniable way. I am no doubt looked at as a “tech guy” I suppose, being a coder, designer, content creator, and even building my own computers. I like to think that Steve had a hand in all that and that is why I am actually really excited about his keynote speech at the Crypto Invest Summit LA this October 22-24. 

CIS Los Angeles Breakdown

While CIS LA is primary focused on fundraising with mostly insiders & techies attending, I still find that it is a GREAT networking opportunity and they have a stellar lineup of speakers that I am excited to check out. Steve Wozniak is certainly at the top of my list, but he is in good company with a host of great speakers that include; Tim Draper, Crystal Rose, Rodney Sampson, David Bleznak, David Weild, Adam Draper, Jeremy Gardner, Emily Bush, Ran Neu-Ner, Miko Matsumura,
Tegan Kline, Alex Wearn, Steven McKie, Yossi Hasson and Scott Walker. With so much going on at the convention it is quite hard to catch every speaker, but I am going to do my best!

Blockchain Believers

All the people involved in CIS truly believe in blockchain and cryptocurrency as the backbone of our decentralized future. In particular, the Woz has been an early blockchain supporter and a global activist for fairness, decentralization, and distribution. Catching up with Steve Wozniak about the summit, he says;

“I am very excited to speak about the potential for Bitcoin and blockchain at Crypto Invest Summit. I want to speak with the biggest players in the blockchain community, and challenge them to make innovative products that create utility – and then bring real value to their users.”

I think he really hits the nail on the head here with the focus being on “utility” and creating real “value” for users. This is often overlooked at this very early stage in the development of blockchain and crypto, but at least we know that innovators like Steve Wozniak understand this. Now we just need to get everyone else on board!

In talking with my buddy Alon Goren (co-founder of CIS LA), we seemed to be on the same page when it comes to Steve's contributions. “No one demonstrates innovation and distributing its rewards to those who helped build it more than the Woz”, says Alon and I wholeheartedly agree!
